Call for Proposals

The Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards is now accepting conference session proposals for its 2025 Annual Conference being held July 24-26, 2025.


Session proposals will be accepted until February 28, 2025.

Conference Focus

The annual conference supports a variety of stakeholders including licensing board staff, national associations of licensing boards, and legal professionals that support licensing and regulation. Preferred topics areas related to regulation include: • Re-imagining and best practices in leading regulatory boards. o Risk and Evidence Based Approaches o Transparency, Access, and Accountability o Flexibility and Adaptability • Legal considerations and key developments in regulation. o AI + Public Policy o Cybersecurity, Data, and Consumer Privacy o Environmental Law and Justice o Board Structure, Governance, and Authority • Innovative approaches and thought leadership in regulation. o Collaboration and Co-Created Regulation o Data Analytics and Predictive Modeling o Human-Centered Regulation o Emerging Technologies o Crisis Communication

Key Dates

All session proposals must be submitted no later than Friday, February 28, 2025.

 

Selected presenters will be contacted no later than March 21, 2025.


Conference registration opens on or before April 14, 2025.

Session Formats

The following session formats are expected to be offered; however, proposers can submit an alternative session format that best supports their topic and session goals. Individual Session (1 hour): Sessions presented by one presenter. Panel Discussion (1 hour): Panel discussions are intended to provide attendees with multiple angles on the same subject matter and may include 2-4 panelists. Pre-conference Workshop (3 hours): Workshops offer in-depth hands-on training. 

Selection Criteria 

 • Relevance to conference focus and target audience.

 • Originality and quality of the proposed session.

 • Ability for the session to qualify for continuing legal education, certified association executive continuing education, and/or other continuing education.

 • The presence of diverse perspectives (i.e., regional, institutional).

• Substantive issues discussed with time allocated for discussion or interaction • Background, expertise, and experience of presenters.

• Clear session description and learning objectives.

Proposal Submission Instructions

 Please submit the following information to  @farb.org for consideration.

  • Session Title: 15 words maximum. Preferred Session Format: Individual, Panel, or Pre-conference workshop.
  • Session Description: 250 words maximum describing the session and topic focus.
  • Learning Objectives: 3-4 objectives describing what attendees of the session will learn/take away
  • Presenter(s): Name(s) and brief biography(ies) of all presenters.

Speaker Participation Rules

All session participants must register for the conference and will receive 50% off the conference registration price. Hotel and travel expenses are the responsibility of the speaker or their organization. Presenters may submit to multiple sessions. Presenters will be asked to share presentation materials electronically with conference attendees. Proposers may be asked to collaborate with others who have proposed a similar session. The program committee will make the final decision on session lengths for each selected proposal
